2013 promises more fun and more excitement!
Welcome to 85 Speedway, Ellis County’s oldest racing facility….Where Speed Isn’t An Option!!!
The tradition of racing at 85 Speedway started in 1985 and it continues through today, 29 years later! With something for the entire family each week, we work hard to make sure that all the fans are entertained. From the youngest to the oldest, there is something for everybody!
Lots of fun is planned for this season, starting with our regular weekly races. 2013 season regular weekly classes include the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Southern SportMods, Street Stocks, Bombers, Cruisers, and Jr. Mini Stock. Special classes that will compete during the month include the Lone Star Dwarf Car Club, the Sprint Series of Texas, the Texas Winged Modified Association, and others. Plus, throughout the season there are lots of special events for our drivers and our fans. Special racing events held annually include the Independent Day Fireworks Show, the Black Gold Shoot-out and the IMCA Regional race. Our youngest fans look forward to each season include the Kid’s Box Car Race, Bicycle Races, the Gold Rush, Bicycle Giveaways, the Easter Basket Giveaway, and many others, and for our grown fans there’s the Powder Puff races, Roger’s Birthday Cake Bash, the Ladies Show Kicking Contest, and many others. And, don’t forget, almost every Saturday night before the races, from about 6:15 p.m. till 7:30 p.m., the main gate is turned into the Featured Driver’s Autograph Area. Fans are encouraged to stop by and meet the drivers, take a look at their cars, take pictures, and get an autographed driver’s picture.
